Turisas Release A Finnish Summer With Turisas DVD Plus Tour Dates

The Finnish folk metallers, who are currently on tour in the UK with Dragonforce will release A Finnish Summer With Turisas - their first long-form DVD release - on 3rd November in Europe and 25th November in North America. Following the UK dates the Finns head out to America before returning to Europe in the new year as main support on Dragonforce's Ultra Beatdown World Tour.

Speaking after a successful first night of the tour, Turisas vocalist Mathias 'Warlord' Nygard said: “Fresh from the first show in Oxford, we're sitting here in backstage drinking the first beers! The gig was awesome, and we're really glad to be on tour once again.
"The summer was very busy - after having got used to spending our summers at festivals around Europe for years, we faced an exciting change as this summer with most of the festival shows taking place in our home country Finland. The whole summer was caught on film and the result is our new DVD: the festival performances, the behind the scenes material, and also some interviews and other summer activities around Finland.

The new video for Battle Metal 2008, compiled partly of fan submitted material and featuring Turisas fans engaged in suitably war-painted, sword-wielding tomfoolery, can be viewed here. Battle Metal 2008 is a re-working of the fan favourite anthem from the band's debut album of the same name and the audio version of the track will be available on the limited edition version of the DVD.
